Classification: Special Focus
STATUS: WAITING

Nathaniel is a gorgeous bright boy! He is able to move for steps with holding something. He could throw a kiss. When he was 1 year old, he was 74cm in height, 9.9kg in weight, 45cm in head circumference, and 40cm in chest circumference. He was able to transfer a toy from one hand to the other deftly. He was able to say mama. He was able to walk several steps independently. At present, Nathaniel is 1 year and 4 months old. He is a bright and handsome little boy. He is closed to the caregiver who takes care of him. He likes hugs and kisses. He gets on well with others. He likes to play toys with the children who share a room with him and sometimes he also takes other children’s toys. Nathaniel is curious about everything and likes to explore. Sometimes he looks in the cabinets in the activity room, taking the objects out to wave and look at them, just seems to study them. When he meets strangers, he is a little shy, nut he will warm up soon after you play with him. CAN CAN is normal in various developments. He begins to babbling. He is able to point out the things he wants with gestures. What is interesting is that when he is criticized, he will lower his head, just seems that he knows he is wrong, very favorable. Although he is unable to speak at present, he understands what adults say and gives response. Nathaniel is healthy. He has a good appetite. He has a good sleep. He has a regular life. Now he can stand with support; sometimes he can walk for a few steps with support; due to his condition, he cannot eat too full or do strenuous exercise; every day, the nanny will help him practice walking; the nanny will take his hands to let him slowly walk; he will walk while raising head to look at the nanny; if the nanny is looking at him, he will reach out arms to ask for holding; and the nanny will hold him up and kiss him. Usually, he likes colorful objects cards; when the nanny puts the cards in front of him, he will laugh happily; the nanny will sit face to face to tell the content on the card to him, and teach him to know the objects on the cards; when being praised by the nanny, he will laugh happily.

Cleft lip and palate
Male, 7 year old
Classification: Special Focus
STATUS: WAITING

While watching Tanner’s video it is obvious that he has a sweet spirit and he wants to please. Here is a recent update on this joyful boy. He is in what seems to be a wonderful foster home:
Tanner is 7 years old. he has done both surgeries to fix lip and palate. He is very healthy and hardly to get sick. He is shorter though. He is 107cm, 18kg. We took him to do the test and it shows his hormone level is low in the normal range. Plus he always needs to go to bathroom at night, it affects his growing too. Also he might had not enough nutrition when he was little.
He has very normal mental development. He is very curious and alert. He learns well. He can find ways to solve problems. Sometimes, he is too active to be focus on one thing. He is very friendly and gets alone well with other children. He likes to help other younger children too.
He is very active and always moves. He is fast and very capable to do things. He loves to try new things and very creative. We just need to remind him not to touch everything sometimes.
He goes to pre-school with other children of his age. He is very good during his class to answer questions or to cooperate with teachers. However, he can’t sit solid for a very long time. Our pre-school is not a formal one. He still needs to study more through real school in the future.
His speech is delay due to his SN. He can’t speak quite clearly. We feel hard to understand him. He definitely needs speech therapy in the future if possible.
He is a very smart boy. Contact Andrea@smallworldadoption.com so she can share more information about this special little boy.
