  • Dear Expectant Mother…

Thank you for fighting for this precious child. Growing a baby is not an easy task, and we commend you for persevering through these long nine months. We also grieve with you through the challenges and tough decisions you face. We were blessed to have known a birth mother nearly three years ago when we adopted our son, James, from Liberia, Africa. Even so, we cannot fully understand the sacrifices a birth mother makes when seeking a family for her little one. Thank you again for your strength.

In addition to James, we are parents to three biological children. Gabriel is eight years old and enjoys being creative, playing outside, and swimming. Aria, six, loves being the only girl and playing dress-up, although she is as tough and active as her brothers. Five-year-old James is full of life; he particularly enjoys coloring and climbing outside. Josiah, our three-year-old, is happiest when he is being held close or helping to cook in the kitchen. They are all excited about the idea of having another baby sibling.

Jennifer grew up in a small town in Indiana and spends her days with the children, teaching them to love God and love others, playing with them, and homeschooling the oldest three. She teaches at a homeschool tutorial one day a week when the kids are in class. In her spare time, she enjoys jogging, reading, and hiking. She is currently training to run a marathon and watches a one-year-old girl twice a week while her mother works.

Christopher grew up in Tennessee, Thailand, and Laos as a missionary kid. He currently works remotely as an IT auditor, allowing him to join the family for mealtimes and support Jennifer throughout the workday. He enjoys reading, wrestling with the kids, walking, and playing computer games in his downtime.

As a family, we enjoy swimming, paddleboarding, reading, building, and more. We are actively involved in our church, school, and Bible study communities and often host friends and family for meals. We seek to honor God and love others well. Some days, this simply happens amidst the chaos of our home, where the kids might fight over toys. With the liveliness of four children, our home is rarely quiet but is often filled with joy. We limit screen time in our house to encourage all of us toward activity, interaction, and awareness of the world around us.

When Christopher and Jennifer first started dating, we shared a passion for mission work. We both visited and lived in several countries, including Thailand, Laos, Haiti, the Philippines, and France, through both short- and long-term mission trips. After our first son was born, we settled in Nashville, surrounded by family members and close friends. We value the diversity of various cultures around us, whether at church, in our neighborhood, or at the YMCA and stores we visit. We remain open to pursuing mission work abroad one day. If we were to move overseas, we would maintain our core family values and continue to homeschool, seeking a godly community.

We hope this letter provides you with a snapshot of who we are as a family. We are open to God increasing our family size if He wills. Until then, may you and the sweet child within you be healthy and blessed beyond measure.

    With warm regards,

    Christopher and Jennifer
