2016 Medical Mission Trip

“Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, EVERYTHING changes.” –David Platt

God is doing some amazing things through Small World to help orphans around the world find their forever families. Most recently, we sent a team of 6 people on mission to visit orphanages in Kunming and Qujing China. This talented team left the states on April 23 and returned home April 30. They spent 6 days conducting a medical mission at some of Small World’s partnership orphanages. We had the privilege of being joined by Dr. Paul Heil on this trip. Dr. Heil is a top Pediatrician in Nashville, TN, also the founder of the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital Adoption Unit. He has a special interest in internationally adopted patients. He, along with one of our other team members and Small World employee, Andrea Sisler, who has over 20 years experience as a nurse working in a Neonatal unit, performed full medical examinations on all of the children in our partnership orphanages in that area. Their professional skills and the service they provided will go a long way towards helping each of the children find a loving permanent family. Along with the medical evaluations, the team took some humanitarian aid with them as well. Pray about being a part of the next Medical mission this fall, either as a traveler or helping provide the funds for a medical professional to go.  All donations to Small World are tax deductible.  Here are just a few pictures of our great team and the amazing work they did. To God be the Glory!!
